This Texas Education Agency Canvas training emphasizes the shared responsibility of all school staff—including teachers, administrators, bus drivers, contractors, and more—to keep students safe. Participants will learn how to recognize and respond to signs of abuse, human trafficking, and misconduct. A special focus for school leaders highlights Senate Bill 571, which expands the definition of misconduct and reinforces the legal and ethical duty to act. The training equips staff with the awareness and tools needed to protect students and promote a safe, accountable school environment.

This course is organized into two tracks. The first track or module is geared for all staff, while the second track or module is focused specifically on information for superintendents and administrators.
